一、基本情況

愛爾蘭國家教育主管部門為愛爾蘭教育科學部。大學（university）享有高度自治。其它高等教育機構的學位頒發狀況由愛爾蘭教育科學部所屬高等教育及培訓授予委員會（the higher education and training awards council，簡稱hetac）監督，所頒發的文憑亦須經該機構認可。理工學院為獲得高等教育及培訓授予委員會認可，可以以本校名義頒發文憑的院校。
